After two sell-out tours in 2019, the iconic 45596 ‘Bahamas’ will steam over the picturesque Settle & Carlisle Railway on 22nd February. To find out more about this LMS Jubilee Class Locomotive, please click here.
The Settle & Carlisle Line, one of the most spectacular and best loved stretches of railway line in Britain boasts the highest railway summit in England at Ais Gill (1,169 feet above sea level). We’ll pass over numerous viaducts, including the most famous of them all, Ribblehead, and plunge into tunnels on our climb to the summit and descent towards our destination.
The train will depart Oxenhope at 08:15 and you’ll also be able to board at Haworth, Keighley and Skipton. You’ll have approximately 2.5 hours of free time in Carlisle, allowing you time to explore the city before our departure back at 15:30.
